Joe Manuel

Joe Manuel brings extensive courtroom experience and a deep commitment to protecting the rights of individuals accused of criminal offenses. Throughout his legal career, Joseph has dedicated himself to ensuring that every client receives vigorous representation and a fair opportunity to be heard.

A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Joe earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center. Following law school, Joseph began his legal career as a Public Defender, representing individuals facing everything from minor charges to serious felonies. That experience shaped how he practices law to this day. Representing clients with limited resources and high stakes taught Joe how to prepare relentlessly, think on his feet, and never treat a case as routine — because for the person sitting next to him, it never was.

That foundation carried him into private practice, where Joe built a reputation for exactly the qualities his public defender years demanded: thorough preparation, aggressive advocacy, and a genuine investment in each client's outcome. Whether the charge was a misdemeanor or a serious felony, his approach stayed the same — know the case and the law better than the prosecution does.

After relocating to Arkansas, Joe brought that same fight to Norwood & Norwood, P.A., joining the firm's criminal defense team. He draws on years in both public service and private practice to give clients strategic, aggressive representation — balanced with the compassion of someone who understands exactly what's at stake.

Because Joe knows a criminal charge isn't just a legal problem — it's a threat to someone's freedom, family, and future, he guides every client through the process with a clear plan and fights for them like the outcome is personal. That's because to Joe, it is.

When he's not in the courtroom, Joe is likely with his family, playing music, or outdoors — cycling and kayaking around Northwest Arkansas.
